It Is Truly Sad But Commen Sense is Dead!

Obituary printed in the London Times – Interesting and sadly rather true.

Rest in Peace-common sense

Common Sense-Rest In Peace

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn’t always fair;
- and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not
children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in
your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I’m A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him you should mourn the lose of a close and dear friend

I am Blown Away America

The American People are Awesome!

Once again the great people of this nation are stepping up and giving from their hearts.  Way to go America!

In the midst of the worst economy in years the American people are opening their hearts and wallets to the people in Haiti.  Haiti is the poorest of the poor and they have suffered yet another disaster and the American people are stepping up and giving like never before.

School children are collecting food, clothing and medical supplies for the people of Haiti.  Corporations are opening their check books.  People who are unemployed are giving from their need.  The People of this country are simply amazing.

Yesterday we heard about people scamming those wanting to give to relief efforts and a hoax on twitter.  We seem to hear the bad more than the good but last night we were beginning to hear story’s about the great heart of this country.

There are some who tell us we must change because we need to be more like other nations but I believe that we must look back to our foundation and fight to remain true to our roots.  FREEDOM SHOULD NEVER CHANGE!   Our freedom gives us the heart to move ahead and will to help others do the same.

If you want to participate in the American response to the recovery of Haiti people, World Vision is at the fore front of the efforts to get food, clothing and Medicine into the country as quickly as possible.  Shipments have already been airlifted into the country and more are being staged now, but they need our help to continue.  Here is a link to their page for Donations.

WORLD VISION Give what you can.

Way to go American!

Shame On You!

Twitter hoax spreads rumors of airlines’ free flights to Haiti.

(CNN) — Twitter was buzzing Thursday morning with news that several airlines are flying doctors and nurses to Haiti free of charge to help with relief efforts there in the wake of Tuesday’s devastating earthquake.

The only problem: The rumors are false, an American Airlines spokesman says.

“Last night’s hoax on Twitter about American and JetBlue flying doctors and nurses to Haiti for free was just that — a hoax. We don’t know who is responsible, but it’s a very low thing to do,” airline spokesman Tim Smith said in e-mails sent Thursday.

I am just a “Redneck” from Colorado but when I read something like this I wonder how many people have been hit in the head with a baseball bat.  Don’t these people have enough to do?  I suggest that when they are found the government should immediately put them to work cleaning the john’s in our park system by hand.

My word, if the prospect of a possible 100,000 or more people dead and over 2 million without food, water and medical supplies doesn’t make your heart cry out to them you are simply dead from the neck up!

We are becoming a nation of cry baby’s and spoiled brats and I am concerned that it is going to come back to bit us in our posterior very soon if we don’t start to address the lack of concern shown by these idiots.

If we have any mature adults left in this country we need to step up and without the use of political correct language tell these people that we are tired of their spoiled brat behavior, and mean it.

Get a life!

Our Leaders are Spoiled Brats

Obama Pitches Jobs Program, Points Finger at GOP for Economic Mess.

Democrats Republicans
I have been tempted many times in the last few weeks to write about this mess in Washington but I did not want to look like someone that would not give our leaders a chance. Well the above headline and following article was simply the last straw.

Our President and his leaders have been in office for sometime now and I thought they would pick up the baton and lead. Sadly that does not seem to be happening. The continual crying about “it’s not my fault, He did it” is really getting old.

O.K. they walked into a mess but they had to know what they were getting into if they are a smart as they are reported to be. The Democrats are as responsible for the financial crisis as the Republicans. It started years ago and grew like a weed into the current gigantic problem we see today. Stop crying about it and start working together to bring it to an end.

We have leaders on both sides that are much more interested in advancing the party stance than working to solve the countries problems. We have an election coming around next year and I hope the American people are smart enough to throw them all out and start over. Let’s find some people from all walks of life, all educational backgrounds, all levels of financial standing and elect them for a single term. People that love America and want the best for their country.

We have had what we have been told are the brightest, most committed and the most popular people in office for a long time and they have lied to us every time they opened their mouths. Time for some old fashioned honesty, integrity and ethics that have been missing in our leadership.

I have four children and six grand children, I have heard them blame each other when they cannot think of an excuse for acting like spoiled brats and I have had to disipline them for acting out. I think the Democrats and Republican leaders need a good old fashion spanking. Shame on you both.

A Take This Job & Shove It Attitude

In today’s unemployment crisis I bet there are thousands of people that wish they could have developed a “take this job and shove it” attitude years ago.  It takes good old fashion guts to decide to take matters into your own hands and build a financial future for yourself and your family.  More and more people are making that decision today because there is simply no other alternative.  The job market has dried up and our leaders tell use that it will be that way for some time to come.

The majority of our population still have jobs but they worry about losing them.   The question is if I lose my job how will I support myself and my family.  The solution is to stop worrying about the possible problem and do something now to avoid any consequences that would result later.

lost job

A take this job and shove it attitude & how to get there.

Every financial planner will tell you to have a reserve of three to six months salary in savings to carry you over any job loss.  This is a responsible recommendation but in today’s world of unemployment and job lose it is not enough.  No one wants to be out of work for more than 6 months but that is the future for many.

Here is a thought, what if you had 6 months salary built up AND an online business that was making a reasonable income?  Now you’re talking!   Six months reserve, an online business you can work from home and the time to grow that business.  This is a goal that can be achieved but it is something that needs to be worked on NOW!  Once you are unemployed it becomes much harder.

Start right now, this minute.

What are you thinking after reading the above?
1.  An online business is not for me, I want someone else to take care of me.  I wouldn’t know where to start.
2.  I wonder if I could start my own online business and be successful enough to support my family.
3.  I have always dreamed about having a business but the risks are too great.

If you fall into number one above consider today’s state of affairs in the employment market.  Thousands of people out of work with little hope of finding a job in the near future.  No one to take care of them, money running out, very little hope for a bright future.  You are talented, you have the ability to be successful on your own.  You simply need to logically think about the risks and benefits of building an online business.

If you fall into number two above let your mind run with the idea of building an online business.  What type of business would it be?  What would it look like?  Would it be fun?  Could it be successful?  What are your talents, hobbies, social connections?

If you are in the group that falls into number three above you need to weigh the risks of following the current path of working for someone else for the rest of your life or owning an building an online business that allows you to go as far as you can dream.

Eliminate the risks that frighten many people.
1.  Go to your bank today and start a bank account for the purpose of building that 6 months reserve income.   Deposit every spare dime in that account once a week (really even a dime. Collect your change every night and put it in a jar, deposit once a week).  If you have extra $10 to $100 deposit it in this account.  Your bank my charge a small service fee but that is o.k.,this is your way out of the rat race.
2.  Take the time to begin to build an online business.  The easiest and fastest way to start your business is to join affiliate marketing programs like clickbank,amazon.com,commission junction they are free to join  Offer your friends products from these sites using your affiliate link.  You earn a commission for their purchases.  Do you Twitter?  Twitter and Facebook are great places to start.
Do you have a garage full of wonderful things you no longer need?  How about selling them on ebay.  Selling on ebay can be a profitable business.

Work from home Let your mind work.  If you put the thought of your own business in your mind and let it work you will be surprised at all the results it will produce.  Discard any negative thoughts, you will have negative thoughts about building your own online business.  We are all taught that a Job is the only way to earn a living in the world but the current employment crisis should tell you that the job can disappear leaving you with nothing.  Think about the possibilities of controlling your own future.  Think good thoughts and throw out the bad ones.

Focus on one thing.  How are you going to insure your financial future?  Control your future or give the control to someone else.  It appears that uncertain futures have been left in the hands of others.  Now is the time to take your future in your own hands.

Set goals, time tables and get at it.
