Years ago, as a young man, I loved working on my car. Granted most of the ‘work’ that I did was changing the oil, filters and wiper blades, and of course cleaning it. I wasn’t capable of doing more advanced work like replacing brake pads or a head gasket, although I did replace a starter once. All of the more advanced repairs were done by the local auto mechanic. As a youth I drove used cars so there was no warranty or warranty-covered repairs and dealership based repair shops aren’t very friendly to eight year old cars.
