Parenting in today’s world or You Have Just Entered the “Twilight Zone”
There is nothing more important than raising a child.
Learning to be a good parent is the number one concern of most of today’s couples. There is no manual or universal guide lines to help us make the right choices. Let’s face it, it is strictly up to us to face the problems and arrive at the right answers for our children. There is a lot of information available to parents and I mean a lot. Much of it is contradictory and much of it is useless but it is valuable none the less.
The first and best guidance comes from the Bible. Yes, the bible. A couple of things to consider.
First we did nothing to create a life. Our participation as man and wife is important but the real creation is in Gods hands and that makes his guidance critical. He gives that guidance in His Word for us to follow.
Second, there is valuable information available to you within your family. You were raised and loved by your parents. They are an excellent source of information about problems facing us as parents. The world changes every day and we think the new problems are something our parents never faced. Really? Trace the problems back to the basics and you will find the solution is the same as our parents faced with us.
Very Good Advise:
When you are faced with a problem that needs an answer take a step back and take a deep breath. Consider the problem, the seriousness of the problem and possible solutions to the problem. Do Nothing in anger,frustration or fear. Always stay calm and clear your mind. The solution you need is available but you need to be sure you know the nature of the problem before you can find an answer.
We will make mistakes. It is inevitable! The challenge is to make as few mistakes as possible while protecting your child.
The time to begin good parenting is at conception. Take care of the mother during pregnancy and through delivery. Make sure the baby is safe and healthy. We have been given the greatest blessing or all, the responsibility of raising,loving and caring for a brand new human being.
Our responsibility as parents is to nurture a brand new unique human being into a productive,moral and ethical adult.
Today’s Parents are Real Life, Everyday Heroes. In the good old days parenting was not easy but the pitfalls that today’s parents face are nothing short of life threatening. Turn on the nightly news and you are bombarded with danger from every direction. If you watch any of the television programs you will most certainly see situations that are supposed to be what are “real life” in today’s world. Do Not Believe It! The programs presented on TV are entertainment not examples of real life families. Take a good look around at your family and friends, how many have families like those on the TV programs? Not every household is dysfunctional.

But remember, stay calm, consult God’s word, talk to your parents and do nothing in anger,frustration or fear.
